Thom Browne, psychedelic space girls and Wednesday Adams

A few of my favourite looks from Thom Browne's latest collection. I love it when designers actually put on a show, and make a runway show a memorable theatrical event, that isn't just gorgeous women walking in a straight line. This show had space age ballerinas, hypnotic pinwheels, and fun house mirrors. The girls look like beautiful corpses, that have just been resurrected from the 1960's- and have borrowed Wednesday Adams Tights.

Guest post by Sarah Kolb

There are few things in life better than a slow summer day, a pretty sundress, and good music.
This Summer, I've been crazy obsessed with Wild Child, a local band from my hometown of Austin, Texas.

They're fun. Sweet. Write sardonic and twisted songs over pretty ukulele riffs. And are all around an amazing band. That's why I decided to create this outfit inspired by one of their songs Whiskey Dreams

A cute printed sundress, a cheerful tote, vintage sunglasses, and of course, just a little studded leather to keep things fresh. What are your favourite summer tunes and trends? Let us know!

Whiskey Dreams

Also. If you're ever in an indie folk band and need to think of an album cover. Just find a raggedy vintage piece of furniture and put bold text over. This is literally the epitome of every Austin band's album art, and I love it.

Don't wake me up, took so long for me
To fall asleep last night through tears I could hardly breath
Thinking maybe there, stupid whiskey dreams
Are gonna kill me soon

xoxo

Red Rock Fashion Competition

The lovely people at Red Rock Fashion are currently running a competition where you can win yourself a  load of free swag. All you have to do is pick one or more items from their website, and make a post showing how you would style your outfit. So not to miss out on the opportunity of winning free stuff, here's my entry:

Dress- Red rock, Coat- Zara, Bag- Red Rock, Shoes- Topshop, Hair Clip- Etsy, Earrings- Etsy, Sunglasses- Etsy, Tights- Asos.   -None of the photos above belong to me.

At the moment I have a minor obsession with 60's mod style. Like I actually spend most of my free time (which at the moment is a lot) just making lists of pretty things on etsy, and trying to find vintage bargains online. I really need to go outside more. So when I was browsing through Red Rock's website and saw this gorgeous mini dress, I knew that my hours of Internet trawling would come in to play. You cant really tell on the above picture, but it actually has small studs around the neckline, giving it a cool punky edge and stopping it from looking too sickeningly girly. It also has the coolest retro flower print.
The rest of the outfit is just a collection of things I wish I could buy right now. The coat is quite mod also, and is in a great pale yellow colour. I'm in love with the shoes, and am actually going to order them as soon as I get paid (THURSDAY!!!) The heel is only small, so you could wear them to walk in, instead of just painfully hobbling everywhere, and the jewels are glitzy enough that you could wear them on a night out, or just in the day. And finally just a few lovely things from etsy to add some crafty awesomeness to the look. Hope you guys like it, and check out the competition yourselves- Its free!

Becoming Margot Tennenbaum

So just in case your in love with Margot Tennenbaum like myself, I thought id put together a little post paying tribute to one of my favourite fictional ladies. Although Margot's fur coat and tennis dress combo is pretty much ever present throughout the film, ive used my ingenuity, and in sifted through a few Margot inspired looks ive collected. enjoy!

"I think we're just gonna to have to be secretly in love with each other and leave it at that, Richie."

House Of Holland Resort 2013

Henry Holland's gone all stateside with his newest collection. Ive always been a little bit jealous of American High schools. I think it's just because they seem so different to schools we have here in the UK. Like you guys have all sorts of clubs and organisations and stuff, like debate club or cheer leading. (I'm just trying to recall clubs from TV shows or films right now) At my school we had literally two clubs. Gardening club, or choir. Not even the cool glee show choir kind, but like a religious church kind. So that was fun.
And whenever you see a 'jock' character on a show they re always wearing a baseball jacket/ cheer leading uniform. ALL THE TIME! Does that actually happen? Cuz after a few days that's gotta smell...
Ive also always wanted a locker. In any high school film there is always a shot filmed next to a row of lockers, and since we don't really have them over here, Ive always wanted one so I can recreate one of those movie scenes. Like Sharpay and Ryan here:

Giles Resort 2013

Here's a few of my favourite looks from Giles's Resort collection. How cool are those glasses? Ive been hunting around for a good pair of sunglasses lately- not that ill ever get a change to wear them, its been raining so much here there's been flood warnings. Thanks summer. But who knows maybe I could wear them to try to stop my mascara from streaming down my face. I love these cat eye glasses from Asos for £20 (sadly out of stock last time I checked) So maybe ill persuade myself to be optimistic enough to invest in them:

Cassie Ainsworth

Now for you American guys and gals reading this, you might only know skins through the American remake MTV made recently (which lets face it, was pretty bad) but please don't write it off based on this only, because the original -well the first two series at least, is sooo good! I thought I'd use this post as an opportunty to pay hommage to the dreamy Cassie ainsworth, my personal favourite character. ever.
